Women’s Group

…The most important thing I can tell you about the timing of the home cycle is this: When it’s time, it’s time. Even if you’re not ready, even if things are undone, even if today your ship is coming in. When it’s time, it’s time. The seal woman returns to the sea not because she feels like it, not because today is a good day to go, not because her life is all nice and tidy — there is no nice and tidy time for anyone. She goes because it is time, and therefore she must…

–Women Who Run With the Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Why a Women Circle?

For many years I was waiting to be invited to a women’s group. I was longing for a sense of community and belonging, a safe place where I could blossom and be all of myself.
At the same time, I was feeling ambivalent about it…. why a “women’s” group? Why did it need to be gendered? I didn’t really have an answer to that, and it kept me hesitant. To this day I still don’t have a rational answer to offer – solely the experience of Grace that I have witnessed over the years.
For clarity and inclusion’s sake, when I say “women”, I mean any person who identifies as female, regardless of their genitals or outside presentation.

A new chapter began when I read “Women Who Run with the Wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. The call felt clearer than ever, and I realized I couldn’t afford to wait indefinitely – “when it’s time, it’s time”. And so I started my first women’s group in New York City, and I couldn’t believe how many women responded.
This sense of urgency is also why I restarted women circles a few months after moving to Boulder, CO, despite not having much community there yet. It felt bold, yet necessary. And this time again it has been incredibly rewarding.

Over the years, I also got to understand why the quote above feels so dear to my heart: these few sentences sum up my life’s Work. Whether with a group of women, one-on-one or in Ceremony, my gift is to help people to find the way back to their authentic selves – to their psychic homes. To remember who they are, connect with their personal Truth, and then find the freedom to express it.

I am not a teacher – or a guru – or a shaman, but merely a vessel for this work to take place in a safe container. The magic doesn’t so much happen because of what I do, but first and foremost because each and every participant brings their entire selves, and because in the process I am aligning myself with my purpose.

While leading the group, I am always trying to find the right balance between safety and growth so that little by little women find their place and bring as much of themselves as they possibly can.
I encourage everybody who feels so compelled to share their information with one another and meet outside of our circle if it feels appropriate.

The next circle will start in the Spring 2018. Groups go for 10 weeks and meet for 2h once a week. Maximum of 8 women per group.
